FDIC Insurance

Our Strength: In times like these, we are reminded just how valuable the relationship between Synovus and Synovus Bank really is. We are confident because Synovus Bank has the full resources and backing of a holding company with more than $34 billion in assets and a 120 year history of financial strength.

What does "FDIC-insured" mean? Synovus Bank is FDIC-insured which means that we have met high standards for financial strength and stability. If, however, an insured bank fails, FDIC insurance will cover deposits, dollar for dollar, up to the insurance limit.

How much of my money is insured? The basic coverage amount is $250,000 per depositor, per insured bank.

What is the Transaction Account Guarantee Program?

Synovus Bank is participating in the FDIC's Transaction Account Guarantee Program. Under that program, through June 30, 2010, all noninterest-bearing transaction accounts which include NOW accounts with interest rates of 0.50 percent or less are fully guaranteed by the FDIC for the entire amount in the account. Coverage under the Transaction Account Guarantee Program is in addition to and separate from the coverage available under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules .To learn more contact FDIC online at www.fdic.gov.

Coverage up to $7,500,000- the Synovus Shared CD*, available through Synovus Bank, provides you FDIC Insurance on deposits up to $7,500,000!
